Eucharisteo: The Art of Thankfulness #91-110

Eucharisteo: to be grateful, to feel thankful, to give thanks

I don’t know about you, but most days, I don’t feel all that thankful. Sometimes I simply don’t want to feel thankful.

So I write them down.

And count them one by one.

91. the soundtrack to La La Land

92. chipped dishes

93. Baby chatter

94. unfinished projects–leaving motivation for tomorrow

95. our neighborhood park

96. connect the dots worksheets

97. arm day

98. mailboxes

99. crying babies at night, and the snuggles that follow

100. finally finding jeans that fit!!!! (can I get an AMEN?)

101. green bean cassarole

102. tiny stitches removed from a tiny foot

103. the excitement of new crayons

104. Husband’s face popping up on my phone

105. celebrating birthdays

106. inspiring posts from other mamas

107. wooden cutting boards

108. Playmobil

109. planning out how to brine a turkey

110. polka dotted shirts

What are you thankful for today?

This idea of an Eucharisteo list came from the book One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. Click here to read an excerpt from her book and learn more about the art of thankfulness.

  1. This is a great time of year to start a thankfulness journal!

Today I am thankful for my daughters nap, so I can nap with her since I caught her cold!

  2. This is like the first time I’m coming across this word…You know its very easy to be an ungrateful person..Sometimes, writing down the things you should be thankful for shows us how blessed we are…Helpful Post

  3. I love this idea! It really helps to change and keep your mindset positive, so even the tough stuff (stitches and babies up at night) can be viewed in a positive light (snuggles!). I think I’ll be starting a list myself this week. Seems fitting to help celebrate the holidays. Thanks for the great idea!

  4. I love the idea of writing down things you are thankful for and I love your list- like Play mobile and chipped dishes- I would love to know what inspired those thoughts. I’m thankful for my sweet kids who love each other, my fantastic supportive husband, and coffee 😂

Playmobil – – – my kids are just starting to play with it, and it takes me back to my own childhood where imagination took flight each day.
Chipped dishes—sometimes they bother me and I want new, but then I remember that the chips were caused by tiny hands trying to clear their places at the table. Trying to help their tired mama. The chips are love, because ultimately, the plates themselves don’t matter. But the hands that held them do.
